How to Measure
- Place a sheet of paper against a wall on a hard floor.
- Stand naturally, heel against the wall, weight evenly distributed.
- Mark the tip of the longest toe on the paper.
- Measure wall → mark in cm or inches.
- Repeat for the other foot; use the larger foot.
- Wear the type of socks you'll pair with the shoes (dress socks vs. thick wool).
- Measure in the evening — feet swell throughout the day.
- Dress shoes should feel snug in the heel and roomy across the ball of the foot.
- Leather uppers will stretch slightly; suede stretches more than calfskin.
- Between sizes? For dress shoes, a slightly snug fit is preferred — leather will give. For casual styles, size up if unsure.
